The Alliance for a Healthier Generation’s Healthy Schools Program has been working with districts across the country to create and implement strong wellness policies, guided by evidence-based best practices. The Alliance has created a Model Wellness Policy to make revising your district or school’s policy easier than ever.
This policy was developed to assist local communities in improving the concession stand (or c-stand) nutrition environment and to promote healthy eating among youth and families.
A model wellness policy developed by The South Dakota Department of Education (SDDOE) for local agencies to promote children’s health and well-being and used to enhance academic performance.
Developed to help make it easier to choose the right snacks at vending machines & snack bars.
CDC, in collaboration with Shape America (formerly AAHPERD), developed a step-by-step-guide for schools and school districts to develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive school physical activity programs.
To promote the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans and support youth physical activity, CDC and several partner organizations developed the Youth Physical Activity Guidelines Toolkit, which highlights strategies that schools, families, and communities can use to support youth physical activity.
